UNDERSTANDING THE IVA TECHNIQUE

The IVA technique is based on 17th and 18th Century principles of singing developed by the Old Italian School of Singing. Our goal is to train voices to sing in a free and natural manner, smoothly, from the bottom of the range to the top with no breaks or sudden changes in quality. Training in this technique give the singer access to all dynamics, with tonal clarity and flexibility. Also, training in this technique helps improve a singer's range, endurance, stamina, breath control, resonance, vocal strength and vocal quality across all styles of music without fatigue or damage to the voice. By training you to find a balance between airflow and intrinsic muscular resistance, we can achieve some amazing results in a relatively short space of time.

THE IVA BENEFITS

As a Level 3 certified teacher, I have access to the IVA yearly teacher conference, teacher-trainings, master classes and workshops, as well as online training in the form of webinars. Understanding how the voice works allows me to quickly diagnose and fix problems in any voice, and also how to develop voices of a professional calibre that can meet the demands of modern careers in singing.

In addition, my training allows access to eduation in many areas of singing such as performance, musicianship training and style coaching across multiple genres of singing, so I am able to support and advise singers of all abilities and ranges.
